Description:

The unpublished Fletcher index of Māori personal and geographic names found in selected books and two major periodicals is a significant resource that is held only at the National Library and some major public and tertiary libraries in either photocopied or microfilmed copies. This project seeks, firstly, to make the index freely available on the Web and secondly, to embark on the task of updating and expanding the index by adding more recently published items.
