DELOS Summer School
The 2008 DELOS Summer School on Digital Preservation in Digital Libraries will run from the 8th to the 14th June 2008. It will take place in Italy. The DELOS Network of Excellence is a four-year project funded by the European Commission under the Sixth Framework Programme to synergize and foster technology for the next-generation of Digital Libraries. Participation in the School assists attendees in understanding how to address digital preservation challenges within the context of the digital library. In addition, the School provides a networking opportunity by creating the opportunity to meet with other researchers, international experts, and practitioners across disciplinary and national boundaries.

Rare Book School: Electronic Texts and Imaging (using TEI and
XML) (Feb-03)
University of Virginia Rare Book School
This four-day course (L70 and L75) is run by the University of Virginia
Electronic Text Centre. In 2002 it was also held at the New Zealand Electronic
Text Centre in Wellington. A hands on course; by the end you will have
converted part of a manuscript or book into a searchable electronic text
using the Text Encoding Initiative (TEI) and XML. The reading lists are
useful.
